How can people get better at managing organisations with lots of tiny moving parts?
Speaker 2: (00:05)
Yeah. This, this is a crucial one. I think the first thing is recognising that there are lots of moving parts and that they cannot be responsible for all of them. So what we're really talking about here is the micromanagement, which a lot of people won't like to hear. A lot of people think the business depends on them and they are the business. So the first thing that they need to recognise is they're not. So if there are lots of moving parts, especially involving other people, you need to make sure that you are getting out of the way and that you're giving the clear leadership that's needed. And again, a conversation for another day about what real leadership is. And you're giving the people the freedom and the autonomy to do the things that are necessary. Because if you've got to keep an eye on all of them, then it's not going to work. That's the brutal truth is it's not going to work.
