What's one thing I can do to handle situations where everything is going wrong?

So this is an interesting one. I had a client, not that long ago, who had a particular area of his life, where everything was going wrong. And his natural instinct was to throw all his time and effort into it. And it couldn't have been the worst thing for him to do because he was just getting more and more bogged down into the detail. So at the time when everything seems like it's going wrong, that is the time to step back and breathe and think, and just listen to the thinking that's going on. Don't act on that thinking, but just see where it takes you. The worst thing you can do is react and take action after action after action that isn't thought through and planned. So for me, it's taking that step back to breathe. Look at the situation, listen to the thinking that's going on in your head and make sure that you don't just go with the negative ones.

The reactionary ones, the chances are, it's not as bad as you think. The chances are, there's some lessons to be learnt here. There's feedback that's being given to you. And if you pay enough attention, the answers are going to be there. But obviously if all you look to do is react to the, to the situation, it's just going to be stressful. It's going to cause anxiety. You're going to think you're fixing leaks. When actually, you're not. There's just more and more going around and popping up left and right. And you're gonna run out of fingers and thumbs to block them with. So yeah, take a step back and breathe. And if you can allow yourself to reach out to maybe a third party, that's obviously going to be beneficial. But if that isn't an option, just pause.
