I would say, first and foremost, have you got any expectations of people? Are you expecting your instructions to be followed rather than have you sought an agreement with somebody? Are they absolutely clear that you have expectations of them? The chances are very often people don't realise quite what is expected of them. And this is why I've always said I believe they're toxic. But if you can both agree what is going to happen, it's no longer an expectation. There's clearly some actions that are set there. So let's first and foremost, make absolutely sure that the recipients, and the people that you want these, to complete these tasks, know exactly what they're doing. Not a case of they should know better, or they should know by now. None of that rubbish. Are they absolutely clear what they need to do today?
